Days 1      Day 2-4      Day 5-7     Days 8-9

The evening light dancing across serene loch waters, an early morning mist drifting in gentle glens, the haunting call of distant bagpipes—they’re all a part of the untamed allure of Scotland’s highlands.  It’s a land that calls to the heart; sweeping mountain vistas, rushing streams and rugged forests of pine, fir and gorse where golden eagles still fly.  Our walks take us through the storied streets of Glasgow, along the banks of bonnie Loch Lomond and down the lonely strands of the Inner Hebrides islands.  From the depths of ancient castles, to the warmth of a pub meal, or the breezy expanse of the moors, you’ll get an unparalleled and intimate look at a land and people alive with the echoes of an ever-present past.

Adventure Trips: Scotland
Day 1  Ft. William-Ben Nevis

From Glasgow our drive takes us past the “bonny banks” of Loch Lomond where we’ll admire the surrounding range of 3000 foot peaks and enjoy a short walk before heading to Ft. William, situated just west of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. A welcome dinner imparts the true flavor of Highland hospitality.

Days 2-4  Glenelg –Isle of Skye-Dunvegan Castle-Staffin-Eilean Donan Castle

We begin our day with a hike in the secluded Highlands of the Glenelg Peninsula. Verdant green valleys, cool rushing streams and fields of heather-clad mountain slopes make the Highlands a magical destination for walkers.  Later we’ll continue on to the romantic Isle of Skye to view a seal colony in Loch Dunvegan, visit Dunvegan Castle, the oldest inhabited castle in the Islands and a reminder of long-ago battles between feuding clans and visit the magnificent pinnacles of Storr Rocks.

Days 5-7  Lochcarron-Torridon-Gairloch

Back on the mainland, we begin our day with a stop at striking Eilean Donan Castle, magnificent guardian of the surrounding territory.  Our walks near Lochcarron and in the Torridon region take us to high mountain glens, alongside shimmering lochs and across hillsides resplendent with heather and thistle. We’ll enjoy a walk along the coast near Diabeg where Loch Torridon gives way to the open sea.

Days 8-9  Edinburgh-Holyrood Palace-The Royal Mile

After a leisurely breakfast, we head to Edinburgh, capital of Scotland and one of Europe’s most elegant cities.  We’ll have time to walk The Royal Mile and visit Holyrood Palace before sharing a farewell dinner of traditional Scottish fare.
